[BT TELEGBAPH. — PBE9S ASSOCIATION.] DUNEDIN, This Day. Two claims for compensation for accidents preferred against the New Zealand Coal and Oil Company, wcro_ set down for hearing at yesterday's sitting of the Arbitration Court, but were settled privately. James Nel c on, who waß injured at tho Kaitangata mine on 20th May, losing two fingers, accepted £30. William Garven, whoso eye was injured on 13th Juno, has taken £10 in full settlement of his claims.
