Gray, tjhe rider of Tanglefoot in tho Rangitoto Steeplechase, run at the Takapuna Jockey Club's summer meeting on tho 29th January, having become apprised of tho fact that tbe owners of the' horse were dissatisfied vvith his display, requested the stewards to hold an enquiry. As a result a meeting of the stewards was convened, and at the conclusion the following resolution was passed: — "That, after hearing lengthy evidence, tho stewards are unanimously of the opinion that Albert Gray rode the horse Tanglefoot to win in the Rangitoto Steeplechase, and he is exonerated from any charge of pulling tho horse." | The running of Inniskillen in the same race, which formed the subject of enquiry on the day of the race, is to be re-opened at a special meeting of the stewards on Monday evening next. It will be remembered . that Inniskillen ran off at one of the fences in the concluding round. The rider (Deeley) stated that the occurrence was due to the horse overpowering him, and the Stewards at tho time accepted the explanation.
