WOMEN'S TEMPERANCE UNION.
*»■ Last ovening tho first meeting for the year of the Women's Christian Temperanno Union was held at the rooms, Constablcstreet, Mrs Boxall in the chair. Routine business having been disposed, the correspondence — which included a letter from Tasmania on the. opium question — was dealt with. An interesting report of the year's work, in Levin was received from the becretary of the Levin Union. The union, being anxious to rake fund^ to reduce tha debt oa tho Girls" Association rooms, docided to accept tho kind offer of Mrs Keeno, Icland Bay, and' hold a garden party in her grounds during tha second week in March. The weekly classes for girls have been resumed, and a dressmaking ches is to be held every Wednesday. Mrs. M'Aliater was chosen to represent Wellington at the coming convention of tho New Zealand Union in Auckland, and two representatives were appointed to attend the meeting of the Wellington NoLicense' Leagua,
