SENT TO GAOL.
<& ATTEMPT TO DERAIL A TRAIN. By Telegraph.— Press Association.— Copyright. MELBOURNE, 6th February. The man Mackley, a farm labourer, charged with attempting to derail an express train near Horsham, midway between Melbourne annd 'Adelaide, on 13th December, .was found guilty, and sentenced to seven years' imprisonment. Mackley placed sleepers on the line, but, fortunately, the cngino cut its way through the obstruction. The man at first stated that he had acted with the j object of "seeing what the train would do," but Inter admitted that he wanted to give a line-repairer a spill fiorn his trolly for turning him off tho line.
