STORM IN THE TASMAN SEA.
— . ♦ ROUGH PASSAGE FOR THE MOERAKI. During the voyage of the- Moeraki 'iroin Sydney to Wellington extremely rough weather waa experienced. Sunday, Monday, and the morning of Tuesday were particularly ur.pleasunt. On •Monday heavy seas ' broke on ' board ths vessel, carried away part df her deck cargo, and smashed her railings. A passenger, Mr. Grant, was thrown to the deck, and besides sustaining severe injuries to his head, ho had a £ore-arm broken, and lost blood to an extent that greatly weakened him. It w-as afterwards discovered that two arteries had been cut, and as result Mr. Qrant was in a slate of semi-collapse. This morning Mr Grant, still very Kveak, was removed in an ambulance to Wellington Hospital. Tho foregoing particulars have been gathered from passengers by the steamer. The official report of tho voyage simply states (in effect) that' the vessel experienced rough weather and eventually arrived at Wellington.
