[BT TELEGIBAra.— rEESS ASSOCIATION.] AUCKLAND, sth February. At the Supreme Court this afternoon, James Vesey, a, man about 40 years of age, pleaded not guilty to> three charges of indecent assault. The assault occurred in Victoria, Park op 30th December last, and the victims of the outraqo are three little girls aged respectively six, seven, and eight 'years. Evidence Avas given to the effect that the ; three children Avere playing in the Victoria Park, whejn they met the prisoner, who tampered with them, and then gave them money to buy lollies. His actions Avere observed by some men, Avho went up to him, when prisoner declared that the children Avere his OAvn. One of the little -girls, hoAveA'er, Avas recognised by one of the men. In sentencing- the prisoner to seven years' hard labour, 'his Honour- said that in this court, two years ago, prisoner had been convicted of a similar filthy assault upon a little girl. It Avas clear that he Avas ono of thoso persons avlio oughfc never to be allowed at liberty at all.
