FOXTON HARBOUR BOARD.
WHAT IS PROPOSED. [Br Tklegbaph.— Special to The Post.) FOXTON, TbJs Day. Tho Mayor presided over a public meeting last night, convened by the Chamber of Commerce to discuss the formation of a Harbour Board. Mr. Henne j sy, president of tho Chamber, presented a statement showing tho approximate revenue and expenditure. After allowing for an annual expenditure of £1563 a credit balance was shown of £1650. The proposed Bill to be placed in charge of Mr. Stevens, member for tho district, gives representation on the board r.s follows: — Palmerston and Feilding boroughs, one each ; Manawatu county, ons ; Government, I one ; Foxton Mayor and two to be fleeted by a harbour district. The limit to borrow under tho Bill is fixed at £20,000. It- will not bo necessary to strike a rate-. A resolution was carried unanimously urging tho members for the district to secure the expeditious enactment of tne BUL
