BREACHES OF BYLAWS.

Ths following cases of breaches of bylaws were dealt with at the Magistrate's Court this morning before Dr. M'Arthur, S.M. :— Archibald Kelly was fined £2, and casts 7s, for watering his paiden by means of a hose without measuring the water so us-id with a water meter. James Phillips was ordered to pay £5, and costs (s, or in. default to undergo one months' imprisonment, for allowing offensive rubbish to be on his premises in -Garrctt-Hreet. Alexander Bell, for commencing to erect a building without obtaining tho city surveyor's ennction to do so, was fined £1, with 7r, costs. Harold Rndford wns orderrd to pay ss, and costs 7s, for refusing to pay the conductor when riding on a tram. A large number of people '-were charged with allowing cattle- to strny on publio roads. Joseph Nisbot, David Taylor, and William Talbot wero ench fund ss, and costs 7s; Albert Larkin and 0-rorge Nash each 10s, and coals 7s; Alfred Bradley and Edward T. Rice, £1, costs 7s; Thomas Hill, Alfred Cooper, James Bradshaw. Cecil Graham, Edward Bloomfiold. and James J. Moore, £2, and costs 7s ; Samuel Good and James Knight, £3, and costs 7s.

In consequence of the growth of the population at Island Bay it has been decided to establish a police station in that district. Constable Redican, of Eltham, formerly Bt&tioned on Thorodor.-qtiay, is to be placed in charge of the new i»tition, which will be situated on tho Parade, close- to the hotel. It is very piobable that a police station will bo , opened at Karori in the near future.
