The Horowhenna Boating Club gave a free afternoon to all children and their parents in Levin the other day, and about 200 young people accepted with .i goodly number of the older ones. A particularly happy day was spent on and around the lake, and the many good things provided by Uie club and friends were thoroughly enjoyed. ■This evening three long-servico medals are to be presented to members of the Levin fire brigade. Th© welcome rain of last week is already showing the good effect, as the grass is taking a greener colour, and fast losing that brown and withered look of the last few weeks.
