THE SQUADRON.
FLAGSHIP. LEAVES FOB, SYDNEY. H.M.S. Powerful left Wellington for Sydney this morning. Admii-al Fawkes yesterday entertained at luncheon the Chief Justice (Sir Robert Stout) and Lady Stout, Hon Dr. Findlay and Mrs. Findlay, Mr. J. B. Harcourt, and the Misses Harcourt. H.M.S.S. Challengers, Pyravaus, and Pegasus leave for Nelson to-morrow, and will stay there Tor about ten days. They may return to Wellington, but if this is not possible they will proceed direct to Hobart to join the rest of the squadron there. The behaviour of the men-of-wp rsmen in Wellington has been most exemplary, and the services of the naval pickets have not been required, notwithstanding that the force regularly patrolled tho piincipal streets.
