WELLINGTON COLLEGE.

The Wellington College Governors met this morning, there being present Messrs. A. de Bathe Brandon, A. Warburton, W. H. Field, M.P., and Hon. Dr. Findlaj. Tho question of accommodation for freo place pupils at the Girls' High School was raised incidentally, and the chairman stated that the college governors had agreed to give a certain number of entrance scholarships, but they could take in no more than half a dozen free scholars. At present there were applications for five, but no doubt more would come in. More boys could be taken is soon as tho new buildings were completed. Room would be found for all the boys that the college could accommodate. Accounts amounting to £553 18s 8d wero passed for payment. The chairman stated that the board would have to make up its mind to exercise the strictest economy between now and thecompletion of the new buildings, as therp would be a large expenditure upon furniture and equipment necessary for the additions.
