In tho hides nurket pnees are very firm all I round, with keen competition. HASTINGS RAM FAIR. SATISFACTORY PRICES. NAPIER, 30th January Hie annual ram fair was commenced at Hastings to-day. The entry was a record one. All the stud rums and the shearling and two-shear Lincoln and Roraney flock rams were offered to-day. Other flock rams will be submitted tomorrow. There was a large attendance of buyers, and satisfactory prices were realised. Lincoln studs' sold up to 32 guineas, obtained for a shearling bred by W. Rayner, Masterton , 52 guineas was realised for a shearling bred by tlie New Zealand and Australian Land Company, winch gut AS guineas' for another shearling. T. Tanner'a studs sold up to 47 guineas, and W. Perry obtained 46 guineas, 40 guineas, 32 guineas, 23 guineas, 27 guineas, and 25 guineas for six of hid etuda. The highest prices for ona of Mr. Bland Rayner's Lincoln etuda was 27 guineas. Flock LLncolna ranged up to 11 guineas, Romney Marsh flocks sold up to 9 guineas, this sum being realised for ten ahearlinga bred by W. E. BidvriU, Wairarapo. Romney Marsh ftuda brought up to 45 guineas and 32 guineas, both price 3 being for rams bred by E. J. Riddlford, Lower Hutt. Only four Border Leicester studs were sold, three going at 4J guineas. The top price for Southdowna was 14 guineas, for one of Mi. George Hhodes'a rams. UPPER HUTT STOCK SALE. Dalgefcy and Company, Ltd., report on their stock -mle a? follows:— A good cntiy of both sheep and cattle came forward. The whola yarding of sheep was sold, and all but a few pens of cattle. The following wero prices realised :— Fat lambs 11s 2d, fat ewes lie 2d to 13s, woolly lambs 7s 2d to 7s 9d, shorn lambs 7s 6d, cull lambs 4a, two-toath wethers 11s 6d to 12s, cull cwea 7s to 8s 9d, ?72 steers £2 14a 6d, fat cows £3 14s 6d to £4 Is, hulls 16a to £2 2s 6d, 18-month heifera £1 Bs, two year heifetr £2 Bs, store cows £1 7s to £2 10s, "forward cows £3 Is, springing heifers £3 10s, unbroken, half draught gelding £24.
