STREET INDICATORS.
TO THE EDITOR. Sir, — Tho new method ot marking tho names pt the fctreotr, that has been adopted by the City Engineer is certainly a big advance on tho old plan oi placing iron plato on out-of-the-way lamp posts. Tho new block in tho pavement that marks Lambton-quay is pleasing to tho eye and comeniently situated, and if of durable material, will certainly bo an economical way of directing people in a city that has not been laid cut on set lines. It is to bo hoped tlist tho work of fimilarly indicating all tho streets in the business part of the city at least, will bo rapidly pushed on. — I am, etc., PROGRESS. Wellington, 25th January.
