ENDEAVOUR UNION.
A ' meeting of the executive of the Wellington Christian Endeavour Union was held in the Vivian-street Baptist Schoolroom last evening. Arrangements yrttfe made in connection with the visit of the New Zealand president, the P v ev. J. T. Pinfold, Of Rangioi'a. it was decided to hold a camp meeting on the Saturday daring Mr. Pinfold's visit, and to invite him to conduct services on the Sunday. A united consecration service, to be held in the Vivian-street Capti&t Church on tho Monday evening, was ako decided upon. • N ..-"." The Look-ouu and Seamen's Committees presented reports, which showed that during the year much good work had been done. It waa' decided to form a- "Tenth. Legion" in connection with the union. Members would be pledged to devote 1 at least a tenth of their income to Christian work. "A Comradeship of tho Quiet Hour" -was also formed. Those belonging thereto, it was stated, would be required to devote at least hlt-een minutes each day in prayer.
Experiments aro being mado in New York with a new type of fctcainer to run 60 miles an hour. The keel is practically one huge propeller, with flanges working up and down, ennbling the vessel to travel at a great speed. THE GUINEA POEM.
