MADISON-SQUARE MURDER. SELECTING A JURY.
By Tclcgmph.— Press Association.— Copyright. (Received January 11, 9 a.m.) NEW YORK, 10th Janaury. Out of 400 jurors, seven have been selected. 1 A Router's message- a few weeks ago stated : — The second" trial may not last ■more than a few weeks. Its length will depend almost entirely upon the time- required in securing a jury. This is expected to be tedious work, as there are few persons in New York County who did not read the details of the former trial, and who have not some prejudice or bias in tho question of Thaw's guilt. Once the jury-box is filled, however, tho attorneys expectto move forward rapidly, and with few interruptions. Thaw, in his cell in tho famous old Tombs Prison, which ho has occupied since the night of the tragedy on Madi-son-square Roof Garden, 25th June, 190.5, is said to be prepared to faco his second trial with the same- confidence, of acquittal ho possessed at the first ordeal.
