REDUCED POSTAL RATES.

By notification in tha Gazette reduced rates have been fixed for inland letters, postcards, and magazines. The new i\\tes are as follows: — Postage; Inland, Id fo rthe first 4oz or fraction thereof, and id for each succeeding 2oz or fraction thereof. Postcards : Inland, single ijA, reply Id ; all other places (Postal Union rates), single Id, Teply 2d. Magazines (registered) : Inland, each copy not exceeding 16oz, Id ; every additional 16oz or fraction thereof Id; Australia (except Queensland and West Australia) each copy not exceeding^ 2oz, ; if over 2oz to 8 oz, Id every additional 4oz or fraction thereof, £d ; Queensland, West Australia, and all other places not otherwise specified, for 2oz or fraction thereof. The registration fee on letters has also been reduced from 3d to 2d for all places.
