La ing Meason, C.E., to report on a scheme for extending tho water and drainage of the borough. The report is to cost £150. Councillor J. C. Ewington gave notice of motion to-day to rescind the resolution. At the Magistrate's Court to-day, F. M. Ross, licenses of Mauri ceville Hotel, was fined for selling whisky adulterated with water. Johnson, licensee of the Mujgrave Hotel, Dreyrrton, wrs found £2 for spiling liquor on Sunday. A few drops of light rain fell to-day and the atmosphere is very murky. Heavier rain is probable, and is devoutly desired. A syndicate has applied to orect a water chute on the Park Lake. The Borough Council has not yet finally dealt with the matter.
