TRIANGULAR TESTS.

A CRICKET PROPOSAL TO BE CONSIDERED. AUSTRALIAN TEAM FOR ENGLAND By Tolejcr«ph.— Prew Awooiation.— Copyright. (Received December 19, 7.55 a.m.) LONDON, 18th December. Tho M.C.C. committee discussed Mr. Abe Bailey's proposal for triangular cricket, tests, between teams representing England, South Africa, and Australia. X was decided not to express an opinion until a definite scheme had been put before the committee, and to send no formal invitation to Australia to visit England in 1909 till tho triangular proposal had been discussed by the Advisory Connly committee. It is understood tho counties unanimously favour an Australian visit. •Mr. Bailey is a South African mining magnate, whose gratification at the success of tha African team that toured England last session no doubt prompted his sporting suggestion. In September last the Marylebono Club advised the Australian cricket authorities that a visit of an Australian team to England next year would not be acceptable, that taat later it would consider the matter of a visit in 1909.
