Lloyd-George, Tresident of the Board of Trade, has been •thanked for his intervention, leading to n mutually satisfactory settlement of the dispute regarding c.otton operatives' wages at Oldham. Had the strike taken place it was estimated that ten thousand operatives would have been affected.
