THE PARAPARA DEPOSITS.
«• fBT TKIKOBtPn — ri'.ESa AS^nOI\TION.] NEW PLYMOUTH, 27th Sept. With reference to a telegram from Wellington regarding Parapara, Mr. Berry informed a Daily News reporter that the telegram was substantially correct. The amount floated in Now Zealand was £100,000, was raised in record time, £37,000 being subscribed in one afternoon. The English capital is all guaranteed and floatation will be put in hand almost immediately. The modus operandi of the company has not yot been settled, but Mr. .Berry says no doubt works v/ill be established here as well as at Parapara, although the latter will probably get earlier attention. It is now nearly seven years since the late Sir Alfred Cadman and Mr. Berry took this matter in hand, and sice that time have spent thousands upon the venture with, until recently, very little hope of success. It is regretted that the late Sir A. Cadman and Mr. E. M. Smith did not live to see the fruits of their labours to which the latter devoted the best years of his life.
