A BUILDING CAMPAIGN.

! ♦ V.M.C.A. IN CHRISTCHURCH. [BT TBLBGHArH. — PRESS ASSOCIATION.] CHRISTCHURCH, 27£h September. The amount collected to-day for the V.M.C.A. Building Fund totalled £532, making to date £11,001, of which £1857 was collected by the young men's team. In connection with the V.M.C.A. building movement and the Gordan Hall Trust Fund, the following authoritative statement was made to a Press reporter to-day : — The trustees of the Gordon Boys' Hall Trust have £10,000 at their disposal. They consider that the best means of achieving the . object Sir John Hall had in view is fo unite with the present movement initiated by the V.M.C.A. by giving that association the use of £5000 of the moneys available, in the event of £15,000 (including the £5000) being collected. Arrangements are being made to ensure that tho boys will have the right over a portion of tho premises to be erected. The, trustees have pow er to donate any part of tho £10,000, and can give any part of it to the V.M.C.A. if it is thought to bo in tho best intorests of the boys to do so.

At the Berhamporo Baptist Church tomorrow, anniversary Bervioes will be conducted in tho morning by Rev. T. Keith Ewen, and in tho pvoning by Roy. A. Dewdnoy. There will be special singing by tho choir, assisted by friends. Tho usual publio meeting will be hold on Thursday, at 7.30 p.m., when addresses will bo delivered by various ministers, reports presented, and a varied programme of musical item) will also bo submitted.
