After the Post went to press yester- I 'day the following business was trans- j acted at the Education Board meet- ' ing:— In response to a petition from the residents of Wadestown, asking that a more central site be provided for the school, it was decided that the members of the city wards should visit the local- I dty and, report. Further grants were £96 for the Kaitoke School alterations, and £77 for repairing the Kilbirnie School. 'The statement of finances showed * credit balance on building and genenl accounts of £1282 Is 7d. and on technical and other accounts £2777 9s 4d, against •which were contract liabilities £1047 16s Bd. The pay sheet, amounting to £7063 17s, was passed. A subcommittee consisting of the chairman, Messrs'. Vile and Aitken, was authorised to deal with the ques tion of the larger, works at .South Wellington, Mt. Cook, the Upper Hutt, and Pahiatua. Mr. Vile moved that the present gcEool site at Eketahuna be sold and the offer of another site of three acres be accepted, provided that the Government paid half the cost. Mr. Hogg seconded. Tho motion was carried, Messrs. Aitken, Vile, and Hogg being authorised. to interview the Minister of Education.
