' Tho Sultan, Abdul Aziz, haa sent an official representative to Casablanca to consult with tho French authorities. Somo of tho Moniouna tribesmen near Casabianca are negotiating for peace. 1 Three tribes from villages south-east of Casablanca recently submitted to the French. Mulai HaJid, tho Sultan's half-brother, has sent troops to" the Shawai district, his orders being that tho Shayais aro to be restrained or el=c persuadod to reserve their strength for a fight against the Sultan. If this cannot bo accomplished, Mulai will join forces with the Shawais against tho French. . A SLIM SULTAN. PAYS HIS MEN WITH WORTHLESS COIN.
