Owing to th« extreme hostility between the Centre and National Liberal parties in Bavaria, principally as regards confessional, tho Centre instructed, its followers to vote for the Social Democrats in the second ballots in order to defeat tho National Liberals. Thereupon the Arohbishops of Bamberg and Munich vigorously opposed these tactics owing to the avowed attitude of the Socialists on religious and monarchical questions. SOME DETAILS. BERLIN, sth February. The National Liberals yesterday lost four seats and gained two, the Centre Pai'ty lost one and gained four, tho Landowners' Union and the Socialists each gained one, ( the Conservatives lost one.
