The workers' homes to bo erected by the Govornmsnt in Corommdel-street continue to be a source of some trouble between the City Council .'>nd the Labonr Department. The application to which reference was made when the council met two weeks ago has been withdrawn, hut another application has been sent in. The Mayor last night moved that this be referred for consideration to the By-laws Committee. Councillor Winder queried whether to do so was necessary. If the application was in order the council could deal with it ctraight away. T lie Mayor -. "But it is not in order, "it stipulates for ! a 40ft street !"
