QUARTERLY RETURNS. DETAILED FIGURES. The public accounts for the quarter *nded the 31st December last appeared in the Gazette issued last night. RECEIPTSThe ordinary revenue account of the Consolidated Fund shows that the receipts for the three months amounted to £2,757,125, against £2,774,669 for the corresponding quarter of the previous year. The principal receipts were: — Balance at beginning of quarter, £467,310; cash in the public account, £467,310 (£812,070); advances in the hands of the Government in the colony, £447,347 (£381,500); advances in the hands of the Government in London, £131,913 (£145,085); advances in the hands of the Government on account of other departments, £3189 (£1979); advances on account of Imperial pensions, nil (£327); advances on account of investment account, nil (£1,000,000); total, £1,099,761.
