CANTERBURY SPRING MEETING. [BY TBLECRAPH.— FHKSS ASSOCIATION.] CHRISTCHURCH, 7th November. The totalisator investments at the third day of the Canterbury meeting amounted to £17,939. Tho Hurdle Race, which was ordered to be run again, resulted in Sardonyx beating Leeside by a head. Magnificent, though officially a starter, did not take part in the second raco. In the Canterbury Cup, Zimmerman set out to make the running, and led round the top turn, followed by Paritutu, JSoomerang, and Blazing Star, with Armistice whipping in. In the straight Paritutu closed on Zimmerman, and this pair passed the stand on even terms, with Blazing Star close up, Boomerang, Multifid, and Lapland next. Passing Cutts'a Zimmerman established a length's lead, but along the back he wao joined by Multifid, while. Paritutu dropped back behind Boomerang and Blazing Star. Zimmerman and Multifid rounded the top turn together for the second time, but half way down the straight Zimmerman was beaten, and Boomerang also fell back.
