Some excellent speeches on the business aspects of the dairy industry were delivered last night at the annual dinner instituted by the dairy secictaries. The most interesting speeches were those of Messrs. J. B. MacEwen and David Nathan (Wellington), livery phase of the dairy industry noticeable here \u connection with the winter show were touched upon, and the remarks indicate that the industry along the West Coast and in the Manawatu district is booming and becoming more and more important in its scope. Fine weather prevails to-day for Die third day of tho show, and, despite the great atti action in Wellington, there ia a very^good attendance. A special ,'uv ture ot this morning s programme is tho children s carnival, the scholars being admitted ■ freo. Air. M. Murphy (Chnstchurch) gave the children an address in the lecture-hall on "Country School Gardens and Hdrticulturc." About 250 scholars from some twenty schools were present, some having come from long distances. The object of this now departure is tc interest children attending the country schools in the exhibition and in agriculture. Tomorrow the childien from the Palmerston schools are to attend.
