STATEMENT BY CAPTAIN BUCKNELL. [F&E69. ASSOCIATION.] (Received June 21, 9.25 a.m.) SYDNEY, This Day. ' Captain Bucknell, commander .of the liner Pondo, which has arrived at Newcastle, referring to the new CanadianNew Zealand service, stated tlhat he had arranged his lines: In addition to cargo the steamers will carry mails, and each country will pay a subsidy of £10,000 per annum. The new service will probably include some Australian ports, that is if sufficient inducement) offers. The steamers Pondo and Bucentor are taking up the running in the new line. Ths Pondo loads bunker coal and then proceeds to New Zealand.
