TRAMWAY EMPLOYEES' DISPUTE.
[BT TEMGBAPH— PKISS ASSOOIVKOM J 1 DUNEDIN, 19th June. In a reference filed by the Otago Tramways Union, in which the Dunedin City Council, Mormngton Borough Council. Dunodw-Kaikorai Tramway Company and Dunedin-RoslyD Tramway Company uro cited, the Court is asked to fix tho hours of work at forty-eight per week in six days of eight hours each, all work beyond to be considered' overtime and paid, at the rate 'of time and a half ; employees to be allowed two days' holiday once every three months, or by arrangement eight days once in every twelve months; Christmas Day and Good Friday to be observed as close holidays, and if work is necessary double time to be paid; preference of employment is asked for unionists, (DT ZZXEQRAPir — OWN COBEESFQNDENT.] DUNEDIN, This Day. x&i. William Scott, will probably represent the Citr Corporation in the tramway hands dispute, which comes before the Arbitration Court in August. Additional interest will be given to the case trom the fact that it will be the first time a dispute has come before the court in which electric and cable- tramway employees are concerned".
