The riots which occurred at Bielostock, resulting in hundreds of Jews being killed and wounded, were subsequently renewed., Thousands of peasants arrived on the scene, the mob robbing the deserted flats, and barning the Jewish houses. Tho Jews were mercilessly beaten, women alone being spared. Two hundred and fifty were wounded. They suffered terribly from lack of physicians and medicaments. Rumours of the intended massacre were current a week or two ago. Two bombs weTe thrown during the procession, one at a Catholic and the other at' a Greek Church procession. It isjreported that a Catholic priest was brown to pieces. A third bomb, thrown at a patrol policeman, killed several soldiers and wounded six. Thousands of Jews have taken refuge in the foTests, where they are guarded by soldiers. In a further encounter betnyeen the rioters and troops many were killed and injured. The ringleaders have been arrested. The incident was made the occasion of violent speeches in the Duma. Several membera accused 1 the Government, or its agents, of instigating the massacre, its object being to show its hatred -of the Jews, and to resist a policy of toleration. It was unanimously resolved to send throe members of tlhe commission that is already enquiring into the administration of illegalities to investigate the causes of the outbreak. FURTHER DISORDERS. . Bands of Jews hidden in houses and on the roof 3 are firing revolvers and rifles at passers-by in the streets. IN THE EVENT OF AN UPRISING. (Received June 18, 9.30 a.m.) ST. PETERSBURG, 17th June. Ifc is reported that the Grand Duke Vladimir's approaching visit to Berlin is connected with negotiations with Germany and Austria-Hungary for joint action in the event of an uprising in the western provinces.
