HASTINGS TRAINING NOTES. [BT TBLEGBAPH. — PBESS ASSOCIATION.] HASTINGS, This Day. During the past week very little, schooling has been done. This morning rain fell, but some good work was done. Pretty Maid and Gazeley finished 'together at the end of six furlongs. Benair easily beat M'Lean and Chatterer over five furlongs. Cinque, Forest Ranger, and Levant were associated over a mile and a quarter, the first-named showing the most pace. The last-named was badly beaten. Ability and Hurimoana finished abreast at the end of a mile and a quarter. Kapetipeti kept well ahead of Shrapnel and Sardonyx over five flights of hurdles. No Shot had Westward beaten over two rounds. Kaitere, Lissa, and Comfort were companions over a similar distance. Kaitere jumped faultlessly, but Lissa baulked twice. Comfort hesitated at each obstacle, but improved in the last round. Black Reynard, with Nogi» gave a splendid display, and lost no ground. Sleepwell . and Lurcher were 6ent over the country. The former did two rounds splendidly. Lurcher only negotiated one round. A number of others did clow work.
