PERSONAL MATTERS.

The Hon. H. F. Wigram is at present i» Wellington. District Judge Haselden and Lieuten-ant-Colonel Loveday were passengers from the South by the Rotomahana this morning. Mr. H. C. Waterfield, private secretary to his Excellency the Governor, returned to . Wellington yesterday, accompanied by Mrs. Waterfield. Mr. Waterfield was recently married in Chris tchurch. Advico was received by Dr. Lowe from Dunedin last night that two of his pupils, Messre. A. H. Rothenbcrg, of Wellington, ahd Cyril Sharp, of Gi3borne, headed the liet of successful candidates at the dental examination. Mr. W. Johnstone, also of Wellington, was third on the list. Mr. V. J. Brogan, who has for the past four years filled the position of hon. secretary to the Newtown Bowling Club, tendered his resignation at the annual meeting of the club last night. Mr. Brogan has done valuable. service for the club as a member for eleven years, during eight of which he has been a director, and his resignation was accepted ■"•ith regret. Mr. Brogan's departure trom his old club was brought about by | his removal to another part of the town.
