Bignell, builder and contractor, and ex-Mayor, said the estate had been very badly managed, and the trustees haa lost a golden opportunity during the list seven years oi cutting tip the land for building sites. If the estate were cut up it would enhance the value of the town. He thought the trustees should be local men. - Dr. Makgill ; District Health Officer, said the buildings were out of date, according to modern ideas, but the sanitary arrangements Were satisfactory. The health of the boys was good. Dr. Christie said the health of the boys was excellent. Mr. Walter Empson, headmaster, said there were now 142 boarders and 45 day boys attending the college. The latter were admitted on a certificate of character, but boarders must agree to attend chapel.
