Alter a prolouged spell of tine weather, which seriously interfered with farming operations ; heavy rain set in yesterday morning, and has continued uninterruptedly since. AUCKLAND, 7th Juno. At the Citr Council to-night, the question of contributing to the- cost of providing an Auckland court at the Christchurch Exhibition was discussed. It was etated that £800 to £1000 would bo required. It was resolved that the Council contributes £250, provided the Hanbour Board contributed an equal amount, and that the balance (£500) be made up by the other local bodies. This Day. At the Supreme Court to-day, James Crowtber, on a charge of arson, was sentenced to three years' imprison r-ent. In the divorce case Ivy Miller v. Charles Bertland Miller, a decree nisi was granted.
