Chapman, the Commonwealth Poatmaster-General, assured a representative of the- Pall Mall Gazette that the people of the Commonwealth were "whole hoggers." He added that Labour would materially assist Mr. Chamberlain to win ultimately. He believed there was ample room for the Labour party in Australian politics. RETURNED UNOPPOSED. LONDON, 6th June. Mr. Davies, Liberal, has been returned unopposed for the Eifon division of Carnarvonshire, replacing Mr. J. Bryn Roberts, who has been appointed a County Court Judge.
