THE DANYSZ EXPERIMENT. A BACTERIOLOGIST APPOINTED. [PRESS AS3OCIATION.I SYDNEY, 6th June. The Commonwealth Government ha 3 appointed Dr. Tidswell, Government Bacteriologist of New South Wales, td' tako controi of tho Danysz experiments for tho extermination of rabbits. Dr. Danysz will only bo allowed to land his virus on condition that ho hands it over to Dr. Tidswcll's representative, and that it bo stored at the Board of Health laboratory until further orders from tho Minister of Customs. Under tho New South Wal ea Microbo Act the virus cannot be used until regulations havo been framed by tho Govornment and have lain on tho table of both Houses of Parliament for a month. DR. TIDSWELL 1 S REPORT. (Received June 7, 9.37 a.m.) SYDNEY, This Day. Dr. Tidswell's report to the ""ederal Government states that Dr. Danysz has brought only ono kind of microbe. It is made to acquire special virulence with rabbits, and is not virulent with other domestic animals. In the hands of competent persons, tho laboratory observations can bo conducted without danger to man or animals othpr than those experimented upon.
