Tho Natal rebels ambushed Captain Clark's squadron at the bottom of a donga. Three hundred natives charged through j fifteen Europeans, and, returning, surrounded them. Captain Clark, who was lying on the ground wounded, continued emptying his revolver, and urging his men. to keep steady and help the wounded. The defenders fought desperately, sheltering behind masses of rock and tangled | undergrowth, until Boyston's Horse arrived on the scene. j Robertson, an Australian, was killed and another Australian trooper ; BAMBAATA'S MOVEMENTS. PIETERMARITZBURG, 6th June. , The rebel chief Bambaata, with thirteen iinpiu, has gone to Ofongozi. BIG ENVELOPING (MOVEMENT. (Received June 7, 8.32 a.m.) PIETERMARTIZBURG, 6th June. A big enveloping movement has begun. The rebel Siganandi is hiding in a long line of caves.
