MURDER OF AN OFFICER. A MULLAH AND HIS TRIBE IMPLICATED.
[press association.] LONDON, 16th December. Reuter's correspondent at Pashawur states that a Mullah named Powinda Mahsud and hk tribe are implicated in the murder of Major Donaldson, of the Bannvi Brigade. The crime was planned to revenge the punishment of another officer's murdereii. Anticipating Government action, th© Mullah has called a jirga (conncil of tribes), and is a|>parently bent on fighting. He has requested the Ameer's aid. Tho Indian Government has notified Mahsud that it intends to make definite demands, and vigorously enforce them.
