THE IMPERIAL CONFERENCE.
CORRESPONDENCE WITH THE FEDERAL PREMIER. [press association.! (Received December 6, 10.26 a.m.) MELBOURNE, This Day. The correspondence between Mr. Deakin (the Federal Premier) and Mr. Lyttelton (Colonial Secretary) in regard to the proposed Colonial Conference has I been published. Mr. Lytlelton suggested that the title of "Colonial Conference" should be discarded, and "Imperial Conference" substituted. Mr. Deakin agreed that the title inadequately represented so important a gathering. He pointed out that if it was not contemplated to meet till the summer of 1906, it would be*almost impossible for the Federal Minister to attend owing to the session and the approaching elections.
