ADDINGTON STOCK SALES. CHRISTCHTTRCH, sth December.

At the Addington. live stocK marKOt today there was a fair yarding of stock and a good attendance. Beef Bold at about the previous week's rates, and fat lambs were firm at last Wednesday's prices. Fat wethers sold well, but ewes were rather easier. There was only a moderate demand for store sheep. There was practically no change in the prico of pigs. There was better demand for store cattle. Store Sheep.— Tho principal, entry in the store sheep pens was A line of 600 wethers, and the demand was not so brisk as last week. Threo hundred wethers made 15s to 15s sd ; 300 were sold at 15s ; 42 woolly two-toftths at 18s; and 73 shorn at 13s Bd. , , Fat* Lambs.— The entry of fat lambs totalled 350, and they sold firmly at tho previous week's rates, one or two pens making 6d per head more. Best sorts brought 17s to 18s 6d, others 14s to 16s 6d. Fat Sheep.— The yarding was only modorate iv point of numbers. Wethers sold well up to late rates. Ewos that were not prime were easier. Range of prices — Best shorn wethers 17s 6d to 20s pd, others 15s to 17s, bost ewes 6s 6d to 19s 7d, others 10s 6d to 16s. Fat Cattle— There were 178 head penned, the quality being somewhat mixed. Bidding was not brisk, and prices were about equal to those of last week. Stoers made £6 5s to £10 12s 6d, heifers £5 12s 6d to £8 15s, cows £♦ 15s to £8 10s, equal to 22s to 25s<per 1001b. Veal calves sold at 7s 6d to 31s 6d, the entry being only a moderate one in point of quality. Storo Cattle. — There was a largo entry of store cattle, including a -line of about 250 good-conditioned Bteers and heifers from Marlborough. There was improved demand and a considerable proportion of the yarding changed hands. The northern cattle sold as follows: — Three and four-year-old steers, £6 6s ; 3^-year stoers, £6 ; balance 'of line, £4- 4s ; 2i-year steers, £3 5s to £3 8s; two-year-old steers, £2 8s; four-year-old heifers, £5 0s 2d; 24-year-old heifers, £3 17s 6d to £4 2s. Local entries—Yearlings, 20s ; 15 to 18-months, 32s 6d to 425; 2-year-old steers, £2 18s; 2-year-old heifers, £2 5s to £2 16s ; 3-year-old stoers, £5 6s ; 3-year-old heifers, £3 ss : dry cows, 30s to £3 10s. There was a small ontry of dairy cows, andthey met with dull sale. Pigs. — There were only a few good baconers penned, a fair entry of porkers, and a good yarding of store pigs. Baconcrs were dull of salo, and porkers and largo stores sold very well. Baconers made 34s to 435, equal to 3id per lb; porkers, 24s to 325, equal to 4d to 4|d por lb ; large stores, 16s to 225; very forward, to 31s; medium, 12s to 15s; weaners, 4s 9d to Bs. Messr3. Abraham and Williams report that at their .Tohnsonvillo stock salo yesterday there was a' heavy entry of bullocks, mostly heavy weights and prime , quality. The market was easier. Beef made up to 20s por 1001b. Bost bullocks, £8 15s; others, £8 to £8 10s. There was a fair yarding of sheep, mostly heavy owes. Tho market was fairly keen.
