SHOPS AND OFFICES BILL. The form in which the Shops and Offices Bill was reported from the Labour Bills Committee has not increased it in the estimation of members. In view of the promise made by the Premier to deal with it as early in the session as possible it is probable that it will be brought on for its committee stage to-morrow, and in that case a long and interesting discussion may be anticipated. It is, by the bye, currently reported in the lobbies tn.it not even the members of tlie Labour Bills Committee are quite agreed as to the real meaning of the Bill in its new form, and that there is a good deal of diversity of opinion pn the subject among the members of the House. THE HON. H. K. TAIAROA. The Legislative Council will resume its sittings to-morrow, after a . holiday extending over seventeen days. Only formal businers, however, will be transacted, iis the first duty of the Council will be to p'isb a resolution of condolence with the relatives of the late Hon. H. K. Taiaroa, M.L.C., whose death occurred since the Council ceased work. A similar resolution is to be passed by the House, and both Chambers will then adjourn for the afternoon as a mark of respect to the memory of the deceased.
