WELLINGTON NAVAL ARTILLERY. TO THE EDITOR.

Sir, — I am entirely in accord with your correspondent "Salvo" that an enquiry should be held with regard to the resignation of the Wellington Naval Artillery Volunteer officers. Last night a parade was called by Staff Officer B.es. This muet mean that tho officers' resignations have been accepted. However, tho men proved toue to their officers, and there were only six non-coms, present. Evidently what is not good for the officers is not good for the men. — I am. etc., FAIRNESS. Wellington, 10th August.

After Cooking, — To prevent a cake from becoming heavy when taken out of tbc oven always ullow the aleam to escape from it. This can be done by putting the cake on a wire meat stand.
