ATTENDING THE INJURED.
THE QUESTION OJ? COMPENSATION. LONDON, Ist November. Acting on instructions from King Edward, Sir Frederick Treves, physician to His Majesty, visited Hoggart, who was boatswain of the sunken trawler Crane, and was injured. In the presence of Sir Frederick Treves, Dr. Fenwick removed pieces of a shattered bone, reset an injured arm, and removed a splinter of iron an inch long from Hoggart' s neck. The St. Petersburg correspondent of the Daily Express says that Russia is willing to pay £100,000 compensation to the fishermen. SUGGESTED CELEBRATION. (Received November 2, 7.45 a.m.) LONDON, Ist November. Mr. Thomas Barclay, a member of the Institute of International Law, has put forward a proposal to celebrate peace and mark the great .and noble part played by France in the recent crisis by an Anglo-French Exhibition in 1906.
