News from New Guinea states that between sixty and seventy natives were shot down ahd about a dozen otherp captured and executed in connection with the recent massacres of missionaries. The ringleader, one Toman, was among thqse shot down in the mountains. He died hard. He exchanged several shots with the constabulary before being mortally wounded. Fighting side by side with him was his aged mother. After the fight was over, her body was found alongside -that of her son. - »
