[BY TELEOKAPH — PBESS ASSOCIATION.] AUCKLAND, 11th October. A large number of business men and others were present at an auction of properties owned by the late firm of T. and S. Morrin, Limited. The Queen-street property, which fronts 33ft on Queenstreet, with similar back frontage on High-street, and side frontage of 189 ft on Durham-street, was offered in one lot with building on it. Bidding started at £10,000, and rose a thousand at a time to £16,000. It then advanced by £500 bids to £17,000. It was then withdrawn. High-street and Victoria-street properties were also passed in. CHRISTCHURCH, 11th October. An important auction sale of city property was held to-day, the block of land on which Tattersall's Horse Bazaar, hotel, and other buildings are situated being offered. The Horse Bazaar, two roods and half a perch, with 66ft frontage both to Hereford and Cashel streets and 330 ft depth, was passed in at £9250, but later was sold privately to H. Matson and Co. at tho reserve price of £12,300. The property is subject to a lease to Pyne^and Co. till 1912. A section, one rood one perch, frontage 66Aft to Hereford-street, depth 166 ft 4in, with brick wool store, was purchased by the Hon. J. T. Peacock for £5050. Tattersall's Hotel, covering one rood two and a half perches, frontage 70ft 2in to Cashelstreet and 165 ft Sin to right-of-way, was passed in at £9000. Delamain's stables, with suit of offices on section one rood fourteen perches, frontage 53ft 9in to Cashel-street and 271 ft to right-of-way, to Mr. H. L. Bowker at £7000. The main lease has fourteen years to run. A set of offices and yard on 12 perches 57ft 7in frontage to Hereford-street, 60ft lin to right-of-way was sold to Mr. A. H. Turnbull for £3300. Another set of offices covering 36 perches 67ft 2in frontage to Hereford-street, 145 ft and 69£ ft to two right-of-ways, was passed in at £5300, but subsequently sold to Mr. H. h, Bfljidcer at the. .reserve pf SbbQQj
