At tho Supremo Court to-day, Georgo PhilKps, a canvasser, was found guilty of forgery, and remanded for tho Probation Ofticei-'fl report. Api Morris, a haJf-caste youth, on v charge of forgery, was admitted to probation. Remarkable circumstances were shown on Apis companion. Do,niel To Hau, being charged with forging tbo name of tho latter's father. Tno boy, who, it was alleged, lmd been doing* something of tho kind when much younger, pleaded guilty. The father, Ropn T-e Ifou, gavo evidence, but Ins affection for the nccu«ed did not go to the extont of paying the £6 3h involved. Witness waft interrupted by his Honour, who sndth "My opinion is that the father and son concocted tho signature. I won't hear tho mail oiiy further. I think tho witness is perjuring himself. I alsothink thWt is a "put up" job, and if necessary I will have- an examination by exports. Stand by till to-morrow morning."
