FOOTBALL. THE AUSTRALIAN GAME.
The Federal Football Club, which hus now a membership of thirty -h\e, and which is one of tho five clubs engaged in tho championship 'Australian ftnno), hold a nice-ling in the Australian Natives' Association rooms last evening. Captain Hcnnah presided. The following officebearers were elected :— Delegates to the League, Messrs. W.^Hailes and C. W. H«ton ; Captain, Im% M. O. H?.yes; Vice-Captain, Mr. G. Hall ; Match Committee, Messrs. Jamicson, Hailcs, Cullcn, Barker, and Piggins. Tho club has decided to engage the ,Carlton Hall for training purposes, where it will meet two nights a week, Tuesdays nnd Thursdays. Its team is drawn against Wanderers in tho first match for Stewart Du« ton's tiophy. ASSOCIATION. The Now South Wales Association football team, which is to tour New Zealand shortly. Mill arrive in Aucklnnd next Monday, nnd will pla>- its first match there against tlie North Island next Wednesday. Mr. J. J. Roberts has chosen H. Renai (full back) and Hathaway (forward) to represent Wellington City. The players will be required to leave Wellington for Auckland by tlie Mm.awatu train on Monday morning. Mr. Roberts, who is one of tho selectors appointed to pick the- New, Zealand tenm, intends accompanying the Wellington players up north.
