Lieutenant-Colonel Collins, Executive officer of the New Zealand Rifle Associa* - tion, has received instructions to take th« necessary bteps to select a representative! Now Zealand team for the next Bisley meeting. The Wellington Rifle Battalion Trill ga into camp for a week at Seatoun on Sunday next, at 2.30 p.m. The camp will be pitched in the park as before. Thei men will go over every evening and re« turn tho following morning. Arrangements have been made with tho Miramar Ferry Company to convey tliem there and back, and brakes to suit tie convenience of tho Newtown- men will leave Con-stable-street every evening for Seatoun all 6 o clock. Colonel Webb has notified tha Officer Commanding the BattaHou that ha will inspect tho Battalion in camp ott Friday, 12th inst. The Kelbnrne Rifka we*e not represented at the Raixfurly Cup competition; on Saturdny, as they did nqt muster the required number of men. The official parade state was as follows : Staff 5, City Rifles 32, Guards 30, Post and Telegraph Riflos 36, Collego ' Biiies 35, Zeaiandia! Ritlos 35, Bearer Corps 10, total 183. Lieut. Colonel Collins, who was in charge, ■was assisted by Major Brandon and Captain Harcourt, who acted as umpires. Heavy showers of rain mado matters unpleasant for a< time. However, some good works was put in, and the shooting was faitly. good. The conditions w^re that each company should fire four sections of not less than six men each, under a non-commis-sioned officer, with a company commander, advancing in extended order in conformity with the infantry drill manual, firing four volleys each at sectional targets.
