THE DUKE WHO USES AN ARMOURED TRAIN.
Jho Duke of Bedford (says M.A.P.) has caused a good deal of amusement to tho inhabitants of Wobum by his'lateat investment, a sort of miniature armoured train, consisting of a tnick, _ painted brown liko tho Duke's livery, and drawn by A small tteam-molor. Both tho motor and the truck aro protected by high aides, so that tho Duke can go in safety into tho onclcsuro where ho- keeps tho wilder aniinala of his wonderful zoo at Woburn. Some of lh«>o beaMs aro inclined to bo icstivo at times, and tho Duke had a nairow escape of being damaged by a largo specimen of doer which turned ferocious ono day while tho Duke and a somewhat .stout friend wore- in tho onclosuiv, inspecting various now-coincr«. Tho enclosures aro fenced round with very high paling*, and tho Duko, who is active and slim, was eoou on tho outside, but his friend had more difficulty, and only escaped by a very narrow equenk. Ilenco the now importation. And now tho Duko and his friends can steam rouud tho park in safety.
